Knowledge of glaucoma among patients of selected health facilities in Ondo state, Nigeria

Background: Glaucoma is the leading cause of irreversible blindness globally hence, need for individual to acquire knowledge prevention, control and appropriate management. This study sought assess glaucoma among patients selected health facilities in Ondo state, Nigeria. Methods: research was a descriptive study. A total 366 respondents randomly from two Ondo-state participated research. self-structured questionnaire used collecting relevant data. Data were analyzed level significant at p value 0.05. Results: Out respondents, females 216 (59%) dominate, majority aged between 21-30 years (20.8%). Above half (51.1%) had tertiary education. Participants’ awareness (64.8%) (49.7%) good. Socio-demographic profiles no relationship with glaucoma. Conclusions: The about fairly good state. findings stress enhance through public oriented Also, patient education planning might positively affect patients’ adherence medications.
